Wool Carpet Price Guide

One of the questions customer often wish to know when they first contact us is : What are wool carpet prices? and What’s the cost of wool carpet per square metre? Although this is a difficult question to answer, I will try do my best in explaining the different options and a guide to wool carpet price. We find people want to know the  carpet price per square metre and 80/20 wool carpet prices which is also covered in this article. Most people looking for a carpet are looking for a hard wearing, stain resistant and durable option. Wool carpets are a great option although not as cheap as some man-made carpets. Their are numerous benefits over manmade carpets.

10 Benefits of wool carpet

  1. Hardwearing – You will have to replace your carpets less often as wool carpets will retain their structure and appearance for longer.
  2. Bounce Back – Like a sheep’s coat is curly, the micro fibres in the wool carpet are the same. When the wool carpet is walked on and is flattened the curl will bounce back to its original form. This process makes the original appearance of you carpet last longer.
  3. Good for air quality – Man-made carpets give off  VOC’s which are link to cancer. Wool carpets have the opposite effect and can actually absorb these VOC’s.
  4. Excellence acoustic properties – Their is a reason wool carpets are used in church’s and that is it stops the echoing effect. This is because wool carpets are great for absorbing sound which is great for the acoustics of the room but also if you have any neighbours near by.
  5. Fire Retardant –  Wool is naturally fire resistant. It has a high ignition temperature and can actually self extinguish. This is a massive benefit and will mean flames will find it hard to spread and don’t melt like mad-made carpets. This results in less smoke and the smoke which is given off is less toxic.
  6. Eco Friendly – Wool carpets are recyclable, biodegradable and  sustainable.  Coming from and renewable source and will break down quicker than other options if disposed.
  7. Helps with Allergies – Wool carpets are hypoallergenic and can act as an air filter trapping pollutants and allergens.
  8. Naturally stain resistant – Due to wool natural characteristics it is extremely resistant to water based stains. The structure of wool makes it difficult for liquids to penetrate and will often sit on top for a little while.
  9. Vibrant Colours – Wool takes dyes really well and for this reason you get an amazing array of colours. The wool locks this dye in so the carpets keep the colour with out massive fading for years to come.
  10. Economical  – Although the initial outlay is more than other types of carpets. In the long run it will work out more economical because you will have to replace you carpets less often.

Wool Carpet Price Guide – 80/20  Carpet Prices

In this article I’m going to cover 80/20 woold carpet prices and 100% wool loop carpet prices as these are the two most popular choices.

I will list below the different types and prices of wool carpets. I have included links straight the the manufacturers where you can order samples directly to your home. Please be aware costs are always rising so these prices are only correct at the time of writing.
