Cherry Carpets Ltd for vinyl flooring

Vinyl has long been established as a reliable flooring option for those on a budget. However, recent advances in technology now mean that premium quality vinyl flooring can compare favourably with real wood and ceramic tiles. Vinyl’s advantages are that it is durable, low maintenance, water resistant and warm to the touch. There is an almost limitless range of design possibilities from subtle and understated to bold and extravagant.

Vinyls are excellent at imitating natural materials such as wood, stone or ceramics. For kitchens, we recommend dark slate effects for its opulent and sophisticated appearance. Bathrooms can be transformed with spectacular glass tile styles for a clean and modern look. We even have tile designs with grooves that can be grouted for extra realism.

Key advantages of vinyl flooring from Cherry Carpets

Vinyl flooring is engineered to replicate natural materials. Vinyl is very tough, and specifically designed to withstand scratches, cracks and chips. This means that vinyl is actually more durable than ceramics, wood or stone.

Vinyl is highly water resistant, and many brands are completely waterproof. Any moisture or liquid spills will stay on the surface and can be easily wiped off. This makes vinyl perfect for bathrooms and kitchens.

Vinyl flooring is warm underfoot, in contrast to stone or ceramic floors – which can feel really chilly during the cold months of winter.

Vinyl is so customisable it opens up a world of exciting design options. You are completely free to choose how the vinyl is cut and fitted. Feature strips, borders and motifs are all easily achieved to enable you to make your own unique design statement. Our expert staff will be only too happy to advice and assist.

Brands of vinyl flooring

At Cherry Carpets we have a range of top brands of vinyl to which are both practical and eminently stylish. These include: Tarkett, Polyflor, Gerflor, Beauflor and Domo. We have a wide range of design options available to coordinate with your room and complement your design vision. In response to customer demand, we now stock cushioned vinyls which feature a cushion backing for that extra comfort underfoot.

Linoleum – an environmentally conscious alternative to vinyl

In addition to vinyl, we also stock linoleum, which is a natural material made from linseed oil extracted from flax seeds. Linoleum is often mixed with other natural materials including cork, wood and rosin. Linoleum provides an excellent, environmentally conscious alternative to vinyl.

Although linoleum can tolerate water, it is not as water resistant as vinyl, and we would not advise it to be used in rooms with high humidity such as bathrooms.
