Transform your home with these flooring options

Has this ever happened to you?

You have been living somewhere for a while and you get the feeling that you want do something that will really transform your home.

A few simple changes may help. Buying that new item of furniture you wanted may make you feel better, for a while. Putting a few new pictures on the wall can make a welcome change. However, one thing that you can do to more permanently transform your home is to add new flooring.

One problem facing many people wanting to harness the transformational effects of lovely new floor coverings is that with such a variety of floor coverings on the market today it’s difficult to know which ones will transform your home the best.

So, if you want to know how today’s flooring can transform your home read on!

Tile and slate – tile and slate is a flooring option that is available in a wide variety of textures, materials and finishes. They are easy to clean and look great. This makes them ideal for bathrooms, showers and kitchens or any other areas where water and moisture is present, and where water resistant flooring is required;

Laminate wood – laminate wood floors look just like wood, are available in plank and tile format and are both versatile and durable. This makes laminate wood floors ideal for use throughout your home including high traffic areas such as hallways and living rooms;

Solid hardwood – hardwood floors never really go out of fashion. Traditionally made from ash, maple, cherry and walnut, solid hardwood flooring looks very impressive. The only real drawback to this type of flooring is that it may be relatively expensive compared to other types of flooring;

Parquetry – Parquetry is a form of wooden flooring that is very durable. This makes it suitable for use in any high traffic areas of the house. Parquetry floors are composed of individual contrasting blocks which are laid in complex and intricate designs. These types of floors are popular, look fantastic and add character to any room;

Carpets – With so many patterns and colours available this form of flooring is always going to be a popular choice. Carpets are perfect for bedrooms where they receive relatively little foot traffic and give your bedroom that ‘warm and cosy’ feel that other floorings don’t;

Vinyl flooring – Vinyl flooring is available in a wide variety of colours and designs, is water resistant and is relatively inexpensive. Great for bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms, vinyl flooring is both easy to fit and to keep clean;

There are many ways to transform your home, but there is nothing better than the transformational effect of new flooring whether it is wood flooring, slate or tile flooring, carpet or vinyl flooring.
