Top Options for Bathroom Flooring

These are Cherry Carpets Top Options for Bathroom Flooring. When you are choosing bathroom flooring, the first thing that you should look at is durability and resistance to wear and tear. The flooring material should feel good under bare foot because there are many who prefer to use the bathroom without slippers. Another main consideration is how the floor material will react to moisture. Taking into account all these factors, here we bring to you some of the best options for bathroom floors.

Top Options for Bathroom Flooring

Stone

Stone flooring has a lot of options including limestone, granite, marble and others. The best thing about stone is that you do not have to face any problems with moisture. However, you need to maintain it properly and be very careful while using it since stone often tends to be slippery. This problem can be resolved by texturing the stone surface through sandblasting. The cost is a bit on the higher side, but if you can afford it, it is really a great choice.

Ceramic Tile

Although it is fairly expensive, this material comes with a lot of positive qualities such as beautiful appearance, rich texture, solid build and waterproof nature.  Ceramic tiles are available in a range of shapes and sizes, making room for considerable amount of creativity, if you wish so.

Sheet or Tile Vinyl

Vinyl is one of the most popular choices when it comes to bathroom flooring, primarily because the tiles can be easily installed, and a large number of varieties are available, the two commonest being sheet and tile. Tile is easier to install than sheet while the latter is more durable. Moreover, vinyl is quite affordable due to its low price.

Not So Top Options for Bathroom Flooring

Laminate Flooring

It is very easy to clean this flooring material.  It has a wood chip base, which has the possibility to come in contact with moisture. If you take proper precautions to protect this wood base from moisture, the material works well for bathrooms. With laminate, you have a wide range of choices such as pine, oak, travertine, Tuscan stone, slate, and the like. With laminate their is always the risk of the moisture affecting and ruining your new floor.

Solid Hardwood

Solid hardwood renders a great look and with it, you can feel warm under the feet. Moisture and hardwood does not gel well with each other. If you are thinking of going for solid hardwood, make sure you don’t get to much water on your wood flooring for moisture to seep in. It is advisable to always wipe excess moisture off the surface. With wood their is always the risk of the moisture affecting and ruining your new floor.
